Naruto Shippuden is like Naruto – has the same characters – but it takes place 2 years after Naruto ends. Its basically a continuation of the story and has Naruto trying to find and “rescue” Sasuke

im not sure about yer first question, but the difference between naruto and naruto: Shippuuden is that Shippuuden is a couple years after sasuke leaves the leaf village to go to orochimaru. the number of shippuuden indicates the season. such as shippuuden 15 is quite far into the shippuuden series and there is a 6th hokage and stuff like that

The series has been split in two. The first is when naruto is still kind of a kid and working on becoming the greatest ninja and everything. At the end of that first half, he leaves for important training with a master.

THEN, he comes back at the start of the 2nd half after 2 years of training has past. he is now in his high teens and stuff. Things have happened and now he has more trouble to deal with now that he has grown.

Naruto:

the only difference between them is the Shippuden happens after a 2 yr time skip after Naruto goes through some intense training with Jariya.

The Shippuuden is just a time skip 3 years later and if your just asking about the anime the difference is that Naruto is 200ish episodes and that Shippuuden is undecided. If you want to be more specific, in Shippuuden Naruto matures into a person more fit to be a Hokage. Here the Akatsuki finally shows it’s ugly mug in their quest in the usual world domination etc. Then Naruto becomes more powerful for the sole purpose of defeating Akatsuki anything other than that is a spoiler.

Ok. Naruto is kinda like the first season, and Naruto Shippuuden is the second. So Naruto Shippuuden is a continuation from Naruto.

Naruto has 220 episodes, and I suggest you don’t skip the fillers if anyone tells you to. I think the fillers are worth watching. Well, that’s my opinion anyway.

Plus, Naruto Shippuuden is only up to episode 87 now. If you skip 20-40 episodes, you won’t miss out on the plot, but… you’ll find yourself having to wait for episodes to come out every week like me…

In the first episode, Naruto is 12 years old, and the 2nd episode onwards he’s around 13. In Naruto Shippuuden, Naruto and gang are all about 15 years old.

Basically, Naruto Shippuuden shows all the characters 2 and a half years later, back from intensive training, and now only have half a year left to save Sasuke (who went to train with the evil Orochimaru).
